Accessibility
We want our website to be usable and accessible to all users. As such we are developing it to conform to the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0, Level AAA, which ensures that a certain web accessibility standard has been achieved and is maintained.
If you have specific accessibility needs or queries, please email webfeedback@tda.gov.uk and we will do our best to respond accordingly. Otherwise, you may find the following information useful:
Access keys
To aid accessibility, we have applied the UK Government Access Keys Standard to this website. These provide keyboard shortcuts to specific parts of the site – a useful feature for people who do not use a pointing device, such as a mouse.
We have used a subset of the standards, with the access keys being defined as follows:

Using access keys
Access keys work slightly differently depending on which browser and type of computer you're using:
- If you're using Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 on a PC, press 'Alt' and the access key simultaneously
- If you're using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 (or above), press 'Alt' and the access key simultaneously, then 'Return'
- If you're using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 (or above) on an Apple Macintosh, press 'Ctrl' and the access key simultaneously
- If you're using Netscape 6, use the 'Alt' key on a PC and the 'Ctrl' key on an Apple Macintosh.
Alternative ('Alt') text
All images on this website are accompanied by a brief alternative text which, where appropriate, identifies an image or its function. This alternative text (alt-text) is generally only visible when your browser's automatic image loading feature is turned off.
Links
All text links have been written so that they make sense when read out of context (eg by screen readers).
Text size
The text on this website has been styled using a non-fixed value in a style sheet. This means that you can change the size of the text on your screen by using your browser settings as follows:
- If you're using Internet Explorer, select View > Text Size and select your preferred size
- If you're using Netscape, select View > Text Zoom and select your preferred percentage size
- If you're using Mozilla Firefox, select View > Text size and select Increase or Decrease.
Colours
The colours used on the site have been carefully selected to provide as much contrast between text and background as possible. They have also been checked to ensure they work for those with different colour blindness types.
Rich media
Where content appears in rich media formats (eg as video, flash applications etc) an alternative HTML version is also provided so as not to exclude users without certain software from viewing the content.
Cymraeg (Welsh language)
A Welsh-language version of this site will be available shortly.
