Unqualified teacher pay scale

This is the pay scale for all teachers who have not yet received qualified teacher status (QTS).

Where you fit into these scales will depend on your position, experience and location, as well as on your individual school.

  • London fringe: £16,477 – £25,466
  • Outer London: £18,366 – £27,362
  • Inner London: £19,445 – £28,434
  • Rest of England and Wales: £15,461 – £24,453
