Bath teachers launch partnership
Sports teachers at two Bath schools have formed a unique partnership, it was revealed this week.
The teachers are from one state and one independent school and have formed the alliance in order to create winning sports teams, reports the Bath Chronicle.
Beechen Cliff School and the Royal High School's sixth form students will play together as of September and have even teamed up in non-sporting areas such as drama.
Headteacher at Beechen Cliff, Andrew Davies, told the paper: "This is an important strategic development for both of us.
"It shows how closer co-operation between the maintained and independent sectors can enhance the quality of provision for all students."
He added that Beechen Cliff places a "high value" on its links with other organisations in the local community and welcomed the alliance between the two schools.
In related news, the Government announced this week that there are now 20,100 more teachers in England than there was 12 months ago.
