Catherine Hughes of St Bede's Catholic College is running a project, in partnership with Bristol city council, to give secondary headteachers the benefit of advice from experienced leaders, reports the Evening Post.
Ms Hughes told the paper: "It is not just to help schools that are failing to reach the government's floor targets. The beauty of the scheme is that it has become inclusive of all kinds of schools."
She added: "We have grown the scheme across the west. I believe it will have a strong impact."
Under the initiative, headteachers in Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset will benefit from the support of experienced school leaders.
It has received funding from the National Council for School Leadership (NCSL), which has been impressed with the work carried out so far.
The NCSL is an organisation that works to ensure children have a quality education, by providing headteachers in their schools with full access to the support and training they require.
