Shrewsbury's Sixth Form College received a grade two 'good' rating from Ofsted, which is the second-highest accolade a school can be awarded.
The reporting inspector said of the school: "Leadership and management are good. Quality assurance has improved and is good.
"Governance is good with a clear and determined focus on students and their needs. Students use their voice well in contributing to college life. The college manages its finances well."
The school was described by Ofsted as a small college located in a community that has a socially and economically favourable environment.
Its mission statement is to "provide excellence in teaching and in the learning experience" for all pupils under its care.
Earlier this week, schools minister Ed Balls called for fathers to become more involved in their children's school lives.
He made the appeal, stressing that parent involvement is key to pupil performance at school, as part of a Parent Know How roadshow.
