The Guardian told teachers to know and understand their children, imposing any changes on the room that they want before the start of term to minimise disruption, helping any fresh starters to settle in through personalisation of the student's areas.
It added that if the stress of answering to 30 students was becoming a problem, that it should be talked through with a school leader or headteacher to ease any difficulties.
Parents were told to trust the teachers, as they were experienced in handling the situation, even for newly-qualified starters.
The news provider also stated that anxiety should not be made obvious to children, as a good day for them could be slighted by the feelings of their parent.
Finally, photos should only be taken before or after school, as doing it during the day could single them out and make the child uncomfortable in front of new classmates.
Parents were advised by Rosie Millard of the Sunday Times that the first photo of a parent's child in school uniform is essential before setting off for their first day.
