A school in Huntingdon has been praised for showing an "excellent" relationship between pupils and teachers after its latest Ofsted report.

Town Crier Today revealed the success of Huntingdon Junior School had been praised by the schools inspectorate after a major improvement since the last visit by the education watchdog back in July 2004.

It highlighted the role of governors providing the school with "excellent" levels of support and their intervention in matters of importance at the school - repetition through informal visits and monitoring roles.

The report continued: "The headteacher, deputy and governors have worked very well to establish strong teamwork, which carries a high level of commitment to the well-being and progress of all pupils."

Acting Headteacher Clare Clark said that she was delighted with the commitment of staff, governors, pupils and parents.

Yesterday, the Hunts Post reported that primary school pupils' efforts to grow food for their own lunches was congratulated by the 2008 Anglia in Bloom awards after being recognised as the Best Young Person's Project. ADNFCR-1162-ID-18782764-ADNFCR
