A school in Poulton-le-Fylde has been congratulated for its recent results from Ofsted, with teachers and school leadership praised for their help in making the school "outstanding".

The town's Hodgson Technology College celebrated a "clean sweep of top results" after a visit by the schools inspectorate, which delighted staff after each of the criteria received the best possible grade.

Inspector Ann Wallis visited the school in September to assess such things as staff morale, attendance and pupil behaviour.

Headteacher Tony Nicholson said that the Ofsted report gave recognition to the continued hard work of the staff, teachers and governors as well as the strong performances put in by students.

"Everybody has had a part to play in contributing to our success so this is very much a shared achievement and a shared celebration," he told the Blackpool Gazette.

Last month, the newspaper reported that Highfield Humanities College were using advanced technology to launch their own TV station, HHCTV.ADNFCR-1162-ID-18822160-ADNFCR
