The educational evidence portal

The educational evidence portal (EEP) is an online resource enabling education professionals to search multiple sources simultaneously. Sources include websites such as the teacher training resource bank, the Department for ChildrenSchools and Families the Teaching and Learning Resource Programme and the CfBT Education Trust.
Project aims and purpose

The portal is an innovative and exciting development for education practitioners, policy makers and everyone with an interest in education. It provides access to practical evidence and research materials to underpin practice and policy development.

What can EEP do for me?

Documents from leading education organisations have been collated on one, easily accessible, searchable, site. This makes information and evidence on a wide and ever-growing range of topics freely available. EEP enables users to quickly search a variety of sources, including the teacher training resource bank, finding recent research or policy documents in a particular area.

Organisations involved

EEP is driven by a voluntary consortium of organisations and programmes.  The project has grown out of an idea developed as part of the programme of the National Educational Research Forum. The portal is being developed by a consortium led by CfBT Education Trust; the technology behind the site was developed by Microsoft as part of their partners in learning work in with the TDA. Membership of the consortium is open and growing continuously.  Organisations involved are:

  • the Training and Development Agency for Schools – with teacher training resource bank resources
  • the CfBT Education Trust
  • the Department for Children, Schools and Families
  • the Evidence for Policy and Practice Information Centre
  • the National Foundation for Educational Research
  • the Higher EducationAcademy
  • the Teaching and Learning Research Programme
  • the British Educational Communications and Technology Agency, and
  • the Learning and Skills Council.
