Teaching Advocate Programme

Speaking to a serving teacher is the perfect way for potential teachers to find out about life in school.

The Teaching Advocate Programme gives potential teachers the opportunity to hear first-hand what it’s like to be a teacher, ask about subject knowledge and the curriculum and discuss topics such as managing pupils’ behaviour.

Teaching advocates can talk to enquirers by e-mail or telephone, attend careers events, give presentations, undertake media interviews or become an open schools advocate.  They are reimbursed for their time and expenses.

We are looking for serving secondary school teachers to join the programme. If you are interested, please complete the online registration form  or call the Teaching Information Line on 0845 6000 991. Further details will be sent on receipt of your completed registration form.
