A new era in initial teacher training (ITT) dawned in November with the official launch of iTeach, the new online ITT programme funded by the TDA.
iTeach is a high quality web-based programme allowing students to train to become secondary school teachers in a flexible manner. It’s particularly focused on helping to combat the shortage of maths, physics and chemistry specialist teachers and means people can train in their own time, while still employed elsewhere.
The programme is delivered by one of the UK’s top teacher education providers, Canterbury Christ Church University, in partnership with the largest provider of primary teacher education in Ireland, Hibernia College, specialists in online learning programmes.
