The non-statutory guidance is designed to help everyone involved in ITT understand the scope and expectations of the standards and requirements. It will support ITT providers in recruiting trainees, and in the design, delivery and quality assurance of their programmes. It will support teacher trainees through their training as they work towards achieving the QTS standards. The guidance will be kept under review and updated regularly.
The new web pages are fully interactive and provide a rationale, scope, questions to consider and comprehensive links to further information for each of the standards and requirements. Each standard links to the teacher training resource bank where users can access further resources, links and downloads. Printed copies of the guidance will soon be available from the TDA publications line. Further information about the QTS standards and ITT requirements can be found on the TDA website. We welcome feedback on the new guidance; please send your comments to enquiries-itt@tda.gov.uk.
