(EYFS) sets the standards for learning, development and care for children from
birth until the end of the reception year of primary school. You can also read
about how the introduction of the EYFS will affect staffing issues for higher

Able to Teach was first produced by the TDA in 2004 to help teacher training
providers admit more disabled applicants. Following changes to legislation, we
have produced an updated version.

Change to the skills tests regulations
Following a change in regulations, from 1 September 2008, trainee teachers
not awarded qualified teacher status because they have not passed all three skills
tests will be prevented from going into teaching.
