The CEDP helps trainee and newly qualified teachers think about their professional development. It may be used at key points towards the end of initial teacher training and during induction.
Use of the profile supports the continued reflection on teaching and professional development established during initial teaching training (ITT). The profile is based on three transition points: towards the end of ITT, at the start of induction and finally at the end of induction.
