Publication summary

The extended services disadvantage subsidy is part of the Government’s commitment to extended services in and around schools. The funding is designed to subsidise access to extended services activities for economically disadvantaged children and young people and children in care. In doing so, the subsidy aims to improve well-being, raise attainment and narrow the attainment gap.

This leaflet offers an overview of the subsidy. It covers its purpose, benefits and practicalities, and signposts the resources available to local authorities, school clusters and schools to support their delivery of the subsidy.
