Speak to a teacher
The Teaching Advocate Programme gives people considering a career in teaching the opportunity to get an insight into teachers' motivations, career choices, challenges and rewards of day-to-day life in a classroom. It is for anyone interested in teaching who wants to hear first-hand what it's like to be a teacher in today's schools.
Who are teaching advocates?
Teaching advocates are serving teachers who can talk to you honestly and objectively about their experiences of teaching. The aim is to help you make an informed decision about whether teaching is the right career for you. They can share their knowledge on topics such as behaviour management, workload management, subject knowledge and the curriculum. You can talk to a teaching advocate by phone or e-mail, and sometimes face-to-face at TDA events (subject to availability).
How do I find out more?
