Developing the ethos of the school

A recent Ofsted report, Parents’ satisfaction with schools (March 2006), states that schools with a positive ethos tend to have high levels of parental satisfaction.

Parents identified leadership and management, the quality of teaching and learning and pupil behaviour as key indicators of the school’s ethos.

A whole school approach to skills for life demonstrates a commitment to staff, pupils and their parents. By creating a culture where skills for life is recognised and supported as an entitlement for all staff, you will increase job satisfaction, motivation and participation across the school workforce.
