Benefits overview
Developing skills for life will bring obvious benefits to support staff: but it can also have a positive impact on the school as a whole.
Skills for life provide the foundation for workforce development. Staff with a high level of knowledge and skills will be more effective in their current roles, and more willing and able to take on new and different tasks.
Looking outside the school, it is clear that extending services and activities beyond the school day, working in partnership with other agencies and engaging with the wider community will present the whole school team with fresh challenges. Skills for life can help you manage change positively by giving your school team the skills they need to work confidently in the new, broader school setting.
