As well as giving students a valuable insight into what teaching is really like, the scheme also offers benefits to the schools taking part and their staff.
Providers of the scheme are usually based in, or working with, a university. They select and train a student, ensuring criminal records bureau clearance before the placement, which usually lasts for 15 days in total.
