Recruitment events
A range of fact-finding events across the country provides the chance for enquirers to find out about teaching in general, to explore specific curriculum subjects or key stages and to discover training options. At some events there will also be a teaching advocate – an experienced teacher who can answer questions about the profession.
Recruitment website: Turn your talent to teaching
The TDA’s recruitment website gives information about ways of experiencing teaching before applying for training, the routes into teaching, careers events and teacher training. Many of the links from this site for careers advisers are to the recruitment site.
Regional careers advisers
A team of nine regional advisers provides specialist careers guidance for people thinking of a move to teaching from another career. Advice is impartial and is available by phone, e-mail or face to face. Enquirers who register with the Teaching Information Line are referred to a careers adviser where appropriate.
Teaching Information Line
The Teaching Information Line links enquirers to experienced consultants who can answer questions about becoming a teacher, applying for training, training to teach, financial support and careers events.
