Teachers’ learning and development doesn’t end with ITT. For some teachers and teams of teachers, the most effective learning and development is a sustained, in-depth programme of study that leads to a postgraduate award. The TDA has developed a Postgraduate Professional Development (PPD) programme which funds this type of provision.
The PPD programme provides subsidies to providers of PPD which leads to a minimum of a postgraduate certificate. The subsidy is calculated per participant. Currently only those with QTS are eligible.
These pages offer information on the PPD programme, including:
- data collection template for academic year 2008/09
- PPD funding manual for academic year 2009/10
- information on other funding rounds, and
- links to the reports and reviews that have shaped the PPD programme
The Centre for the Use of Research and Evidence in Education (CUREE) was commissioned by the TDA in July 2006 to undertake a three-year evaluation of the PPD programme to monitor the quality and impact of the scheme.
