Non-compliance with the Secretary of State’s requirements for initial teacher training (ITT) and the withdrawal of institutional accreditation.
The Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) will consider what action should be taken where there is evidence of an accredited provider’s non-compliance with the Secretary of State’s requirements for ITT. Non-compliance may lead to the withdrawal of institutional accreditation.
The TDA’s Procedures for addressing non-compliance in initial teacher training and the withdrawal of institutional accreditation come into effective on 1 September 2007 and will apply to all instances of non-compliance identified in the 2007/08 and subsequent years’ inspection programmes.
The TDA’s Procedures for the withdrawal of institutional accreditation and mechanisms for a request for reconsideration dated July 1999 are valid until 31 August 2007 and will be applied to cases of non-compliance identified in the 2006/07 Ofsted inspections.
