Application assessment
Local authorities have responsibility to assess the golden hello claims from teachers against the eligibility criteria. For detailed information download the administrators’ pack available from this page.
Reimbursement of golden hello payments
Local authorities should make their payroll payment for golden hello towards teachers’ salaries. Local authorities will then contact the TDA for reimbursement of golden hello payments they have made by downloading and submitting the form available from this page.

For trainees starting secondary postgraduate English, dance and drama ITT courses after 1 August 2008, the bursary will be reduced from £9,000 to £6,000. Trainees on these courses will not be eligible to receive a golden hello.
