The core standards apply to all newly qualified teachers (NQTs) who started induction from September 2007. Professional standards help to guide teachers' professional development and choices throughout their careers.
Supporting the induction process: guidance for newly qualified teachers
We have produced some guidance to help NQTs:
- review progress on how they are meeting the standards
- identify professional development needs and priorities, including what further experience, monitoring and support would be helpful.
