The Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) aims to improve the quality of initial teaching training (ITT) by:
- identifying effective practices through research
- improving planning, strategy and innovation
- establishing programmes and initiatives
- funding projects that support the use of ICT
- providing support services to providers
- building capacity in school based placements
- keeping providers up-to-date with national and regional developments
