The TDA and Microsoft are coming to the end of a three year partnership agreement.

The key aims of this partnership have been to:

  • support the ICT training needs of the wider school workforce, and
  • support the continuing professional development (CPD) needs of teachers.

Ongoing projects

Collaborative technologies in languages initiative (CTLI)

CTLI is a pilot project that is developing a learning platform called ‘The Gateway’. The Gateway is used by schools in England, France and Spain and aims to enhance primary modern foreign languages education through collaborative use of ICT. The outcomes of this project and a replication guide will be disseminated in 2008.

E-safety – Know IT All

Childnet International’s Know IT All for Trainees programme provides a dedicated website and a series of resources designed to help introduce the key issues and concepts of e-safety into initial teacher training, giving trainees the confidence to carry the message into their own classrooms. The website has now been officially launched and we have made copies of the accompanying Know IT All DVD available to teacher trainers.

If you are a teacher trainer yourself and would like to request a copy of the Know IT All for Trainees DVD, please send your contact details via e-mail to Shamina Begum: shamina.begum@tda.gov.uk.
