School introduction programme – information for HEI providers

The school introduction programme offers potential teachers of design and technology, information and communication technology (ICT), mathematics, modern languages, music, religious education and science (particularly physics and chemistry) an opportunity to spend up to 10 days in a school, subject to a conditional offer from an higher education institution (HEI) ITT provider.

Although many schools and ITT providers are already offering this type of support, the programme formalises the process and supports recruitment by assisting applicants who might experience difficulties in organising their own school introduction.

If you would like to register your institution on the school introduction programme, please telephone 0845 6000 994 or e-mail schoolintroduction@recruit.tda.gov.uk with the following information:

  • the name and address of your institution
  • the name of the individual who will oversee the administration of the programme at your institution, and
  • the e-mail address of the nominated administrator at your institution.

Schools wishing to join the programme can register online.

Further information for providers and guidelines for referring candidates to the programme are available for download on this page.

If you have any queries about the programme please call 0845 6000 994 or e-mail: schoolintroduction@recruit.tda.gov.uk
