As the national occupational standards have been revised, the framework has been updated to reflect the new national vocational qualifications (NVQs).
The apprenticeship framework for supporting teaching and learning in schools replaces the framework for teaching assistants. The new framework consists of the following mandatory components:
- Level 2/3 NVQ in supporting teaching and learning in schools
- Level 2/3 certificate for teaching assistants
- Employer rights and responsibilities
- Key skills
