Assessment

The assessment includes a half-day visit to the candidate’s school, during which their evidence is assessed against the standards.

The school visit is organised by regional providers of assessment (RPAs) and involves an assessor verifying that candidates have met all the standards, by examining documentation and through oral testimony.

On the school visit the assessor meets with the candidate and the headteacher and teacher(s) of the school, and makes a balanced overall judgement about which standards the candidate has fully demonstrated. The outcome is then subject to moderation.

Further details on the assessment process can be found in the Handbook for providers of preparation and assessment, which can be downloaded from Resources. Assessment forms are also available to download. See right-hand column for link.
