Support staff working in schools do not pay anything for SWiS qualifications. Local authorities receive funding from the TDA to extend training opportunities to meet the development needs of school support staff.

Demand for training is learner- and employer-led and delivered in partnership with existing and new local training providers.

The funding letter that was issued to local authorities in May 2007 is available for download below and contains information and frequently asked questions on SWiS.

You can access more information on the qualifications from the support staff section of this site.

The ready reckoner available below can be used as a tool to enable LAs to manage and calculate their remaining funding by inputting their candidate data. Instructions on how to use the template are contained within the last tab.
