ICT QTS skills test

In this section you will find first-hand information and further resources to help you prepare for and pass the information and communications technology (ICT) skills test.

The ICT skills test is intended to ensure that everyone qualifying to teach has a good grounding in the use of ICT in the wider context of their professional role as a teacher.

The ICT skills test assesses your ability to carry out basic ICT tasks using the following types of applications:

  • presentation
  • e-mail
  • text editor
  • spreadsheet; and
  • browser

The instructions and examples provided assume you have a basic knowledge of ICT. If you have no knowledge of particular application, you are advised to acquire some skills before working through the materials on this website.
