At the test centre

It is essential that you remember to bring two pieces of current and valid identification as proof of identity or you will not be able to take your tests. Please refer to the ID requirements page for full details. You must arrive at least 15 minutes before your test is due to commence so that the test centre administrator can check this and prepare your test.

You should bring the booking confirmation email with you to the test centre. If you do not receive the e-mail, please check your booking by logging on to the booking website and selecting "view booked tests". You can print this page as an alternative.

Once inside the test centre you must adhere to theĀ test rules at all times. Please ensure that you have read and understood these before arriving at the test centre.

If you arrive late for a test it will be at the administrator’s discretion whether you may take the test that day. If you arrive too late to sit the test, you will need to book a new test using the online booking system. You may have to allow for up to 24 hours from the time of your test before you are able to book another test in that subject area.

The test centre administrator will supply you with paper and pencils for rough working during the tests. You will not be allowed to take personal items into the testing room including support materials, personal pens, notepaper, calculators, mobile phones, palmtops, or dictionaries.

There is no provision for child minding or for the attendance of friends or relatives at the test centre. The waiting area, in the majority of test centres, is designed to facilitate the needs of the candidate alone.

Respecting others

Please consider others when you attend the test centre and remember that they will be trying to concentrate on passing their test. Please sign in and take your place quietly. When you finish, collect your result from the test administrator and leave as quietly as possible. If a problem occurs whilst taking your test, indicate to the administrator that you need help, approaching their desk if necessary.

All administrators have been fully trained in the testing system and will try to help you with any problems you have. Please treat them courteously. The organisations who are hosting the tests have their own regulations on conduct and behaviour and are at liberty to exercise these in the event of any inappropriate behaviour.

If any issues arise at a test centre which you believe should be brought to our attention, we would appreciate your feedback so that we can improve the experience for those taking their tests in the future. Please contact the test centre helpdesk.
