Resources for school business managers

The booklet "Discover the benefits of school business managers" offers assistance to headteachers, governors and others involved in running schools, who may be thinking of employing a school business manager or developing the contribution of someone already on the school staff. It also helps to identify areas for development for those already working as school business managers or considering the role.

There are also a range of organisations that can help with training and advice for bursars and schools.

School business managers jobs

The school business managers jobs website, merges all school business manager posts advertised into one site. If you would like to advertise a post, please send details to info@bursarjobs.co.uk  and it will be entered on the site.

The National Bursars Association

The National Bursars Association has developed a facility for schools to advertise vacancies for school business managers and other senior support staff. Those not currently working in education can register an interest and will be advised about posts in their area. There is also a facility to help headteachers and governors with the recruitment process.

Implementation Review Unit

The Implementation Review Unit features a regionally based practitioners' panel consisting of nine headteachers, two senior teachers and one school business manager. The panel will consider the impact of new and current policies on the staff implementing them and have direct access to Ministers. The inclusion of a school business manager on the panel reflects the growing significance of the role.
