The CfA is working with the TDA to develop specialist business and administration standards for school administrators. Between 1 November and 31 December 2006, a draft level 3 administration standard was piloted (unit 334: Provide Administrative Support in Schools). School administrators, their line managers and assessors provided feedback on the draft standard, commenting on how it related to their role within the school.
When finalised, the new specialist strand will become part of the national occupational standards (NOS) for business and administration at level 3. NOS are the agreed set of competences needed for a role and are often used for performance management, developing job descriptions, supporting recruitment and as the basis of training and qualifications.
