Resources on the HLTA standards

The professional standards for higher level teaching assistants (HLTAs) outline what teaching assistants should know, understand and be able to do to be awarded HLTA status.

The standards were revised in June 2007. These resources are designed to support all stakeholders, including candidates, local authorities, training providers, providers of preparation, regional providers of assessment during training, preparation and assessment.

Please note the "Guidance to the standards" is included within the candidate handbook.
