Background

I’ve been a teaching assistant  for nearly 15 years now. Years ago, I did nursery nurse training and one of my placements was at a local primary school called Ashtrees Special Primary School. I loved the work at Ashtrees and spent five years in an assessment class there. I then did supply work in all sorts of schools and care homes. The work in care homes gave me a real insight into what some children have to go home to every day after school. It’s given me a lot more empathy for children living in challenging circumstances.
