The existing apprenticeship framework for teaching assistants needs revising to incorporate the new national vocational qualifications (NVQs) in supporting teaching and learning in schools. In this consultation, we would like to hear your views on the proposed revised apprenticeship framework.
Apprenticeships are national programmes managed by the Learning and Skills Council in England and the Welsh Assembly Government in Wales. There has been a steady take-up of existing apprenticeships across England and Wales with over 250 certificates issued since the beginning of 2006.
The proposed mandatory outcomes of the revised apprenticeship framework are based on the existing framework outcomes. These have been revised to reflect the new NVQs in supporting teaching and learning in schools.
You can still read the proposed outcomes, although the online consultation has now closed. Further details of the different sections of the apprenticeship framework are available here.

Views received will help us to revise the framework.
