CPD in practice: George Mitchell School

George Mitchell: a make learning better group and best practice forums

Interviewee:  Joanne Tiddy

An energetic and innovative approach in a London secondary school has spawned new forms of continuing professional development (CPD) and given a central role to students.

The George Mitchell School is an 11-16 school in the east London suburb of Walthamstow with 600 students. The school aimed to raise the profile of CPD and encourage staff to share expertise and good practice. The school has developed a range of in-house CPD events, each with a memorably catchy title.
