There are a number of other ways in which you can refresh your skills and develop your confidence in returning to teaching. The resources linked to from the left hand navigation panel of this page will give you a head start.
If you would like to take a more structured approach to returning, find out about taking a returners course. Course completers tell us that returners courses have helped them significantly in their return to teaching.
The benefits of updating your skills yourself as opposed to taking a course include:
- developing an action plan that suits you, focusing on the areas you decide on
- returning to teaching in your own time, and
- structuring your return to teaching to fit around your current work or family commitments − most return to teaching courses are run during the day and demand full or part-time participation.
