Using the national standards for SENCOs

The Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) has developed some examples showing how the national standards for special educational needs co-ordinators (SENCOs) can be used in practice. You can download these examples here.
The examples show how the SENCO standards can be used by schools, local authorities and training providers to secure improvement in the educational provision for pupils with special education needs (SEN) in line with the government's strategy for SEN, Removing barriers to achievement. The strategy document may also be downloaded from this page.

The examples should be read in conjunction with the national SENCO standards and the SEN specialist standards.
