ICT practice materials
Practising the benchmark and practice tests will give you a clear indication of the standard required to pass the information and communication technology (ICT) skills test.
- The benchmark test has been developed on the same principles as the 'live' tests. It is set within key skills levels 2/3.
- The pass mark for the ICT benchmark test is 60 per cent.
- All the ICT skills tests have been calibrated statistically against the benchmark test for ICT. As with any multiple set of tests, the tests are not of exactly the same difficulty, but they are of an equivalent standard.
- A test with slightly harder questions will have a slightly lower pass mark and a test with slightly easier questions will have a slightly higher pass mark.
- In addition to the benchmark test it is recommended that candidates also familiarise themselves with the updated practice tests. These tests incorporate recently added functionality and features in line with the current live test material.
The tests for ICT are presented in two formats:
The online QTS skills tests require Adobe Flash Player 10 or higher (Adobe Flash Player is free).
Candidate guidance for the ICT test (PDF, 282KB) provides some helpful hints for successful use of the test environment. For further training on ICT, please speak to your training provider.
