Registering for QTS skills tests

What do I need to do?

  • Before booking your tests, register online by using the link below
  • Ensure your initial teacher training (ITT) provider has given you your unique teacher reference number (TRN)
  • Ensure you provide up to date information. All correspondence, including test booking confirmations, will be sent via email so it is vital you register a valid e-mail address when prompted to do so
  • Ensure you register your details online before booking special arrangements tests. Please contact the helpdesk; do not book a standard test online
  • Add the following addresses to your email address to prevent vital correspondence going straight into your junk folder: skillstests@pearson.com and gtnsupport@pearson.com

Your training provider is required to provisionally register your details with the General Teaching Council for England (GTCE) a maximum of 28 days from you starting your course. This information is given to us and we match it with the details you provide when registering. If a match is not made you will be unable to register for the QTS skills tests.

By registering, you consent to the use of your test information, and any personal data within it, as set out in our data protection notice. For more information visit the data protection page.

If you experience problems registering please see our troubleshooting page.
