ID requirements

Candidates must provide two forms of proof of identity for the test centre administrators.

Primary ID

This must be valid, in-date, and include a photograph, name and signature. Only the following can be accepted as primary ID:

  • Passport of any country
  • All EU driving licences
  • European national identification card
  • A UK photo student card/UK photo student union card provided a signature is present

Secondary ID

This must be valid, in-date, and include your name and signature. The following can be accepted as secondary ID:

  • Debit or credit card
  • Any ID from the primary list as long as it has not be used as the primary ID

Digital signatures

All candidates are required to sign in electronically at the test centre. The electronic signature will be verified against both primary and secondary ID.

Change of name

If you have had a name change since registering for the tests you must bring evidence of your name change (eg marriage certificate, deed poll or other legal documents).

Important notes

Your student identification must include a signature. Those which do not cannot be accepted.

A passport can be accepted as a primary form of ID even if it does not have a signature, as long as it is determined to be valid and there is no designated place for a signature (eg a biometric passport).
