The TDA uses information about the quality and efficiency of provision, obtained from the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted), TDA-managed data collections and other sources.
In this section you will find information about the various data collection programmes and the role of the TDA's information management team.
- performance profiles for ITT providers
- trainee numbers census
- newly qualified teacher (NQT) survey
- the role of the TDA's Information and Research Management Service (IRMS)
From 2003 to 2005, the TDA funded an evaluation of the ITT element of the Teach First programme which was undertaken by the Institute for Policy Studies in Education at London Metropolitan University. The report focuses on the initial stages of Teach First in London and has been used to inform the further development of the programme. Teach First has since expanded to Manchester and the Midlands, with a view to expanding to 11 cities by 2010.
The Information and Research Management Service
The TDA conducts many research and information-gathering exercises among its stakeholders every year. These are necessary to ensure training organisations are funded appropriately and that the TDA's services ultimately contribute to a high-quality school workforce. The role of the Information and Research Management Service is to ensure that the TDA doesn't overload its stakeholders when collecting information.
Please e-mail IRMS for further information.
