The newly qualified teacher (NQT) survey is a voluntary exercise carried out in February each year to collect and analyse
NQTs' perceptions of their initial teacher training (ITT). It is sent out to all new teachers registered with the
General Teaching Council for England (GTC). The survey is used to gauge
NQTs' views on the quality of their initial teacher training
ITT and how well it prepared them for their first year in teaching.
The results are used to help shape the TDA's policies and are shared with universities, colleges and schools involved in ITT.
To access the NQT Survey Data Analysis please visit the NQT survey page.
Archived NQT survey results
Every year, the TDA surveys NQTs who have successfully completed their ITT in England during each academic year.
The results, including comparisons with previous years, are used to inform policy and are shared with ITT providers to help them compare their performance against other providers. Below you can find the yearly NQT survey results.
