Subject resource networks (SRNs)
The subject resource networks (SRNs) provide subject-specific initial teacher training (ITT) materials. They introduce new and existing
ITT trainers to current thinking, research and professional networks in their particular subject area. Although focussed on
ITT needs they contain useful materials for developing subject knowledge for the whole school workforce.
The SRNs were developed by subject associations and groups and their aim is to:
- Induct and support new ITT trainers
- Further develop a bank of resources to enhance subject and curriculum knowledge and pedagogy
- Respond to policies and central strategies
- Provide access to research and evidence that informs teacher education
The materials created can be searched via the Teacher Training Resource Bank (TTRB) or you can directly access the network relevant to your subject area:
