Passing the skills tests in numeracy, literacy and information and communication technology (ICT) is one of the standards that all trainee teachers in England have to meet before the being recommended for the award of qualified teacher status (QTS).
For more about professional knowledge and understanding literacy, numeracy and ICT, view QTS standard Q17.
The tests are designed to make sure all trainees have the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to carry out their professional roles as teachers effectively.
Institution specific results
Providers of initial teacher training (ITT) with more than five trainees can access reports on the skills tests results of their own trainee cohorts via the TDA providers' analysis website.
Providers will also be able to access other providers' data; this data can be used to benchmark their trainees' performance against the national picture and also be taken into account when planning provision and support for trainees.
The reports below provide summaries of the latest results of the skills tests in the three subjects, as well as data from previous years.
