ITT quality assurance and improvement
The TDA is focused on improving the quality of initial teacher training (ITT) provision through specifically focused quality assurance, monitoring, and encouraging effective self-evaluation.
The TDA offers a number of quality assurance and monitoring services to ITT providers both proactively and reactively. These can include individually tailored programmes; guidance and feedback on self-evaluation documents; advice on and evaluation of post-Ofsted action plans; and help with implementing national policy priorities as communicated by the Department for Education (DfE).
ITT providers are also supported via a National Advisory Group and 15 regional networks that meet on a termly basis. These regional networks are chaired by an ITT provider and are attended by representatives of school-based ITT providers; higher education institutions; employment-based ITT providers; and a TDA Quality Specialist as well as other TDA representatives.
