Self-evaluation document
The self-evaluation document (SED) is primarily a tool for use by accredited initial teacher training (ITT) providers in England and helps demonstrate how well they evaluate the effectiveness of their provision.
In 2008 the TDA responded to the request from ITT providers for a tool that would support them in their self-evaluation. Since then the TDA has revised the SED each year following feedback from ITT providers and Ofsted.
Following the recent provider-led review of the SED, updated versions of the SED guidance (PDF, 396KB) and the SED template (Word, 173KB) are now available to download.
Alternatively, ITT providers may wish to use last year's template (please e-mail inspection@tda.gov.uk if you need a copy), or complete their own self-evaluation document.
The SED portal will be open from early autumn to allow ITT providers to submit their SED.
